Nirvana sponsors Chase The Sun!

Nirvana brewery is incredibly proud to announce our partnership with Chase the Sun for the upcoming 2023 events.

A lot of the team here are keen cyclists, so when Phil and Olly approached us to join the program we jumped at the chance. Right from the start we have supported local sports clubs, hosted yoga sessions and running clubs through the summer at the brewery. We are really excited to take this long running engagement with health and wellness to a larger audience!

Chase The Sun is a simple idea, with a unique philosophy. The challenge: ride across the country in one day. Coast to coast, east to west, dawn to dusk. Originally conceived by Olly Moore in 2008, the concept is unique: this event is a ride, not a race, a collective endeavour shared by a community of cyclists inspired in pursuit of a common goal.

The ride attracts a broad range of cyclists from many countries and backgrounds, from trained athletes to determined novices, experienced long-distance adventure riders to urban cycle couriers riding fixie bikes, tandem teams and penny farthings! In contrast with the now typical 'sportives' there is no timing or ranking, no medals, only the ultimate success of chasing the sun to view the sunset on the coastline.

And there’s a choice of four routes:

Chase the Sun Ireland starts at sunrise on the Irish Sea at the historic Titanic docks of Belfast, and finishes after 209 miles at sunset on the Atlantic beaches of Enniscrone.

Chase The Sun UK South starts at sunrise on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent, ending at sunset on the iconic Grand Pier at Weston Super Mare some 205 miles later.

Chase The Sun Italy is a spectacular 270 kilometre route from Cesenatico, to arrive at the Tirrenian sea, on the coast west of Pisa.

Chase The Sun UK North starts on the beachfront in Whitley Bay, riding over 200 miles to reach a view of mid-summer sunset over the Firth of Clyde from Ayr seafront.

I their own words…

We’re excited to announce that next year for the first time Chase The Sun UK South will finish on the iconic Grand Pier at Weston Super Mare, providing an unforgettable experience for all.

Also new for this year is a raft of fantastic partnerships which we will be revealing over the course of coming weeks, including a new virtual training channel with FulGaz and a thirst-quenching alliance with East London-based Nirvana Brewery who are dedicated to one thing only: producing a wide range of great-tasting alcohol-free beers.

Chase The Sun 2023 will again be supporting a range of charities including Life Cycle UK. This organisation believes that cycling has a central role to play in improving individual lives, local communities and the environment.

Let’s do this! Registrations for Chase the Sun 2023 are live now.

🍻Cheers!🍻
