How much alcohol is in our beer?

Can I drive after drinking this? How much alcohol is in it? Is there any danger of getting drunk? How many pints is this equivalent to? All pretty common questions here, be that across our social channels or to our sales teams and one that we’re going to dive in to.

First off ABV is the way this gets displayed on packaging.

So the measure is simple, but what does that mean for us? Well, when comparing to a pint of Stella Artois or Camden Helles, here’s the rough maths:

So, the alcohol in 1 pint of any 4.6% beer is equivalent to about 8.7L of our Helles Lager. This is what that looks like.

So, can you get drunk with our lager? The short answer is no.

There are too many individual variables (including age, gender, genetics, diet, smoking, concentration and time of day) to delight you with another maths section on alcohol metabolisation. Here’s a great research paper if you want to go deep! But, at a basic level an ‘average’ liver will process 15ml of alcohol per hour, meaning the average person would need to drink 4L of our Helles per hour to ingest more than was being processed.

That's a lot of beer, and we would highly recommend taking your time to enjoy it! If you want to see one of the team try and drink 5L in under an hour, do follow our social channels, it's worth watching.

🍻Cheers! 🍻
