2026 has been and will continue to be an exciting year for Nirvana. Over the last few months, we’ve brought you our 10th anniversary limited edition Mocha Porter, launched on TikTok Shop, taken home Gold at the Farm Shop and Deli Awards, and so much more.
To assist us throughout our pivotal fundraising year, we’ve welcomed an investment banking and fintech whizz onto team Nirvana. We’re happy to announce that Paul Thomas Walsh has joined Nirvana as our first CEO.
If there’s anything we’ve learned over the last year, it’s that the No-Low Alcohol industry isn’t slowing anytime soon. In October, Drinkaware reported that 44% of all adults choose no & low alcohol to moderate their drinking. This is a sharp increase from 31% in 2018. Figures like this appear alongside robust market efforts to steer the UK towards no & low alcohol lifestyles, with the UK government and grocery stores alike encouraging movement towards these products.
The bulk of this movement began in around 2023, with the UK government’s press release denoting its commitment to encouraging the non-alcoholic economy. Many alcoholic and non-alcoholic companies alike scrambled to take advantage of the gold rush.
Nirvana was here first. We pioneered alcohol free brewing in the UK in 2016 when we opened our doors. From 2016 on, we’ve only sold no & low alcohol beer. Our long-term perfection and team of experienced brewers are the reason we’re your first choice for non-alcoholic beer. We’re non-alcoholic beer that actually tastes like beer. With our award winning range and scores of positive customer feedback, we’re proud to be leading the UK’s non-alcoholic beer revolution.
That’s why we’ve set ourselves up to scale quickly this year. In one of our most ambitious moves yet, we’re seeking upwards of £1 million in funding. Bringing on Paul is a large piece of that puzzle.
“Ten years on from being the first dedicated No/Low brewery, we’re determined to grow significantly when the sector is one of very few bright lights in brewing,” says Paul.
“And, given our own sales success, this is a perfect time to ride that momentum. This requires heavyweight support from backers who believe in longer-term investments – ones that will enable this pioneering brewery to continue to produce multi-award-winning beers.”
We’re celebrating our decade of brewing premium non-alcoholic beers by appointing our first CEO and setting ambitious goals. Keeping up with the industry at large is important to us, and it’s important to Paul.
Our founder and brand ambassador Becky Taylor-Kean says: “Paul’s expertise and the funds raised will enable us to realise our ambition of becoming the UK’s No.1 alcohol-free craft beer. With a range of serves from 330ml cans to 500ml ‘long pour’ bottles and an increasing number on draught, there’s no other No/Low brewer with the depth of choice that we can offer the trade.”
At Nirvana, we’re looking forward to our new chapter. To stay in touch throughout it all, follow us on social media. Nirvana’s brand news goes straight to our LinkedIn, and everything else can be found on our Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok. Be sure to check out our brand new TikTok Shop as well.
